Sunny Snaps & Skincare: Bioderma sets up innovative UV camera on Dubai Beach
“Beach Day Out” by Bioderma offers beachgoers chance to review their skin, sample latest product innovations and receive expert advice –
April 2015, UAE: Ever wondered how the sun really affects your skin? Pioneering French dermo-cosmetic brand, Bioderma, may have the answer. Join the Bioderma team on Saturday, April 11th for a fun ‘Beach Day Out’ from 12 pm until 6 pm at Fazza Beach Club (previously Kite Surf Beach) in Umm Suqeim and learn more about the importance of sun protection.
As part of the public one-day event, beachgoers will be able to see their skin through a unique ultraviolet camera that is designed to reveal sun-affected skin. The UV camera which is often used in forensics and the medical field to expose bruising or other damage on the skin will be stationed at Fazza Beach Club. The revolutionary camera device works by blocking out any visible or infrared light and allowing only ultraviolet rays to pass through, exposing underlying damage our skin might be hiding. It can also reveal the real effectiveness of using sunscreen to shield your skin from harmful UV rays and will have you reaching for your sunscreen.
UAE residents are at risk of developing skin issues due to strong levels of sun exposure throughout the year. Understanding the importance of sun protection is vital in order to preserve our skin’s health but many of us still find some suncare products unpleasant to use, or too greasy in texture due to various ingredients contained in the formula.
A long-time innovator in suncare and skin protection, Bioderma’s highly successful Photoderm range of sun protection products guarantee dermatological safety while protecting the skin’s immunity and cellular DNA thanks to its Cellular Bioprotection patent. The unique Photoderm range focuses on three priority areas including protection of all skin types from sunlight exposure, tanning protection with a unique Bronz complex, and a specific range which responds to all sun-related issues including delicate skin of children, sensitive skin, skin allergic to the sun and acne-prone skin. One of the most highly prescribed ranges on the market, Photoderm is a reference in dermatological solar protection. As part of the ‘Beach Day Out’ weekend event, Bioderma will be launching Photoderm MAX Aquafluide, the latest suncare product designed with a unique ‘dry touch’ technology.
The new Photoderm MAX Aquafluide SPF50+ UVA 24 offers broad sun protection and guarantees dermatological safety while protecting skin’s immunity and cellular DNA thanks to its Cellular Bioprotection® patent. Its unique texture with an ‘oil-free’ formulation consists of three powders with mattifying properties and concealing agents. The unique texture is as light as water, imperceptible and easy to apply on the skin. Once applied, the skin is perfectly protected and mattified.
The new Photoderm Max Aquafluide SPF50+ UVA 24 is available in pharmacies across the Middle East.
Bioderma’s “Beach Day Out” will also include complimentary consultations with a leading Dubai dermatologist, Bioderma beauty advisers and the chance to sample Bioderma products.
“More than treating the skin, it should be thought to live according to its natural biology”

Putting innovation at the service of skin
Bioderma is the leading independent laboratory of dermo-cosmetic products in France, the products are among the most frequently prescribed by dermatologists worldwide. A pioneer since the 1970s, the company has been the source of a number of innovations designed to meet patients’ needs, no matter what their skin type, respecting the dermatological requirements. These innovations have become standards in the field of dermatology.
But beyond its high performance, the Bioderma laboratory promotes since its creation a decidedly different skin care philosophy, based on a universal understanding of the human skin and the analysis of biological problematic. The goal is to treat not only the symptoms of a skin problem but also its origin. The mode of action of Bioderma products is based on the in-depth study of living matters and cells, and reactivates the skin’s natural resources to increase its own resistance to environmental imbalances, pathologies and medication. By only using the active ingredients that are strictly necessary and by selecting as many molecules that are already present in the skin as possible, Bioderma formulas reproduce and restore the skin’s natural biological mechanisms. For Bioderma, a product should not take over the skin’s job, but should help the skin to do its job better. Products should teach the skin to regain its original functions for the long term, thereby restoring its balance.
