Lacoste breaks a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title
22,500 boxed Lacoste perfumes were arranged in a representation of the Saudi Arabia palm tree, measuring a record-breaking 4.67m x 3m x 1.8m
Jeddah, Saudi, July 31, 2013: Lacoste is pleased to announce that as of July 31, it is the official holder of a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the Largest Cardboard Box Sculpture in representation of the Saudi palm tree made out of boxed Lacoste perfumes. The successful record-breaking attempt, in partnership with Faces and Mawarid Trading, took place at the Lacoste Mega Podium in the Mall of Arabia, Jeddah.
The colossal cardboard structure took 130 hours to build, and was arranged in a representation of the Saudi Arabia palm tree, measuring 4.67 meters high by 3 meters wide by 2 meters deep.
Khaled Zaatarah, Lacoste Brand Manager, P&G Prestige MEA, said: “We’re thrilled to have broken a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title, and where better a location to do so than amongst Lacoste-lovers in Saudi? This new achievement is a celebration of our commitment to our customers here in Saudi and the Middle East, by creating local achievements to make history through world record attempts. My thanks go to everyone who helped to make this happen.”
The Collection
Launched in 2011, the EAU DE LACOSTE L.12.12 collection of male fragrances is inspired by one of the world’s most iconic pieces of clothing – the LACOSTE L.12.12 polo shirt.
When it first became commercially available 80 years ago, the LACOSTE L.12.12 polo shirt, with its breathable piqué fabric, soft collar, ‘tennis tail’ and signature crocodile logo, heralded the birth of contemporary sportswear, becoming as popular off court as it was on and becoming that rarest of things – a true style icon. Effortlessly stylish, it was little wonder that it became the key inspiration behind the entire EAU DE LACOSTE L.12.12 male fragrance collection.
