Give Back to the Environment with Kiehl’s
This Earth Day, give back to Mother Earth by pampering yourself with Kiehl’s. Kiehl’s Middle East has recently appointed famed Emirati designer Khalid Shafar and Alamira Noor Bani Hashim, Cofounder of The Dinner Club by no. 57, as Local Partners of the company. These renowned Emirati public figures have designed limited edition labels for the iconic Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream. In line with the brand’s historical motto to give back, all net sales proceeds from the two limited edition designs will go to the Emirates Environmental Group, a leading UAE based environmental organization that Kiehl’s recently became a corporate member of.
One of the most prominent pillars of Kiehl’s brand identity is its active role in caring for and nurturing the community and the environment. Not only does Kiehl’s partner with an environmental organization every Earth Day to donate proceeds from a specific product, but Kiehl’s takes corporate responsibility seriously and has launched many initiatives throughout its history to support the community. Aligned with the company’s historical commitment to the environment and inspired by increasing customer demand over the years, Kiehl’s continues its worldwide pledge to:
- Minimizes its packaging when possible and uses recyclable materials for the large majority of its packaging components.
- Utilize FSC certified cartons, many of which are made of 80% recycled content and prioritizes the use of recyclable and post-consumer recycled packaging. All Kiehl’s packaging is BPA and PVC free and labels are printed with soy ink on recyclable paper.
- Build-out our freestanding stores and counters around the world in the most environmentally responsible way possible.
- Promote sustainable manufacturing practices. Over the past 10 years, Kiehl’s has reduced C02 emissions by 66%, water consumption per product by 32%, and waste generation by 31%.
- Continue to support RECYCLE AND BE REWARDED, a worldwide recycling program in nearly 100 stores. In 2009, Kiehl’s installed enhanced recycling receptacles in a majority of Kiehl’s stores to offer local communities safe and environmentally responsible disposal. These permanent units also serve as information hubs, educating customers about local green programs and events to encourage more responsibility towards rethinking, recycling and upcycling the use of plastic.
This Earth Day, join Kiehl’s and be a part of the movement to save the planet. These limited edition products will be available for a limited period only and all net sales will go toward benefitting Emirates Environmental Group, a professional working group devoted to protecting the environment through the means of education, action programs and community involvement.
