Don’t Leave Your Hair High and Dry
The sun is scorching now and we are sure it leaves you feeling dehydrated! And just like you want to reach for a cooling drink to make you feel better, your parched hair too is looking for a way to get relief from the dryness that the crisp summer air brings on! So what’s the solution? Here are some tips for you to try.
- Deep conditioning treatment: There is sun kissed and then there is sun scorched, and the GCC summer more often than not has the latter effect. Your hair can lose its sheen and moisture very quickly in the blazing sun, and become dry, frizzy and brittle. And there is no better way to restore the moisture lost than doing a deep conditioning treatment at least once a week. You can go to the salon for this treatment, or even try it at home, but ensure you treat your hair with ample of moisturizers at least once a week during the summer season
- Shampoo less: We know it’s tempting to jump into the shower when it’s all hot and sultry outside, but avoid frequent hair wash in the summers. The sun is working hard to strip your hair’s natural oils in any case, and over washing your hair in the summer can add to this effect. Shampoo your hair less frequently instead and condition every time you do shampoo. At other times opt for a leave in hair conditioner, to give your hair a daily dose of moisture.
- Form healthier habits: Summer is the perfect season to crank up your daily dose of water. Not only will this do wonders for your skin, but also keep your hair in better shape. Also eating the right foods, which are rich in omega 3 fatty acids such as walnuts, flaxseeds, fish are great to restore your hair’s natural oils. Other good food habits that will have a good impact on your hair are cooling foods such as cucumbers and celery.
So go ahead and banish the dry spell for your hair and enjoy the sun with your crowning glory intact!
