This week I visited the Dorothy Perkins press preview at the Dubai mall.

They have launched some wonderful and classy outfits for this season. Their collection includes fur jackets, capes, dress and much more. They are out with their top picks for the Style Heroes 2015.

Style Heroes basically includes their 10 best picks which must be a part of every wardrobe. Lot of their collection this season is inspired by the 60s. I had an amazing time viewing their collections and i am surely heading there next week to grab my favorites……

Dorothy Perkins embraces two key looks for the Autumn/Winter 2015/16 season, with an eye-catching 60s revival and a feminine take on soft Victoriana.

The swinging 60s makes a bold return with a modern twist as rich hues, mini A-line skirts and knee-high boots all make their comeback. High necklines and graphic prints are typical of the era, mixing elements of pretty, preppy and retro flair.

This season, denim is clean and untreated in new silhouettes that adopt the retro utility detailing in dungarees, zip front mini skirts and dresses. Layering is key, as high neck skinny ribs are paired with classic 60s prim pinafore dresses. The cocoon cropped suede and retro zip-through boxy sheepskin jackets are must-have seasonal styles.

The 60s theme colours are a mixture of muted neutrals with rich tones – from caramel, stone and tan neutrals to midnight, cobalt, burnt orange and sunshine yellow.  Animal print is also featured in the guise of zebra in the mini and the pinafore dress.

Soft Victoriana is confident and feminine this Autumn, with sheer fabrics, frilled details, lace trims and soft dresses being the essential components. Blouses are romantic with exaggerated blouson sleeves – whether printed or with lace detailing.

The Victoriana trend also takes influences from the military. A floor-sweeping coat with wide lapels in wool creates an instantly dramatic effect – coordinated with tailored trousers and the prettiest blouse, complete with skinny neckties that soften the look. The tweed and check pieces give the collection a heritage undertone.  Tailoring is balanced out by the florals, frills and femininity of the rest of the collection.

This season, boots are here to stay – be it long, black, classic or lace up.  They are key for both trends. Animal print is making a comeback too – in particular the snakeskin trend, with details found on both chunky winter boots and the platform Maryjane. Bags are maxi in size, whether faux Mongolian fur or with zebra pony skin details.
