Superdry latest Autumn/Winter Collection.
This season, Superdry is showing serious fashion cred with its unique take on vintage Americana and Japanese street style; from military-inspired peacoats and puffer jackets to vivid Navajo print jeans, the British label offers all the wardrobe staples you need for an autumn/winter makeover. And these aren’t one-season garments either – in keeping with the Superdry ethos, these are future classics that men and women will wear for years to come.
Womenswear is all grown up with a collection that offers modern, feminine glamour. Channel chic, sleek style with the hooded eskimo cape or nautical-themed peacoats – but don’t worry, less coquettish girls can get tough with the everest coat, now in a bomber and other longer styles.
Super-soft knitwear is shot through with glitter yarn and explosions of colour, perfect for trans-seasonal dressing; go for prim and proper by slipping the oversized propeller knit over the ernest dress in tweed herringbone, or work a casual nighttime edge by matching the denim calamity shirt with the sequined glitter ball skirt.
Women’s denim gets a major overhaul with new wash techniques for jeans, complete with a vibrant palette of animal prints, dip dyes and unique shades of raspberry and winter green. Working double denim for AW13? Contrast roll-up cuffs, metallic finishes and a range of matching tops mean that the trend never gets boring.
The menswear AW13 collection takes on the past with a heavy dose of the new – think retro fairisle knits in crew and roll neck styles, updated with pops of neon yarn and Navajo details. Meanwhile, outerwear heads for the slopes with an even bigger and better offering, from rugged service jackets to hooded alpine bombers in camo print and shearling lining; pair the sporty patrol bomber with the New York shirt in the refreshed slim fit to harness the casual, après-ski vibe. The classic peacoat gets short with a cropped version, with the merchant peacoat heading on a more military adventure with nautical-inspired details.
Men’s denim styles are updated with new fits and heavy worn washes. The copper-fill denim makes its way into outer shirts, with boxy jackets and contrast orange stitching lending a James Dean swagger to the collection. Classic chinos get a refresh with new washes and a slim, tapered fit, while the new workwear-inspired international chino relays a heavier-duty vibe than the commodity programme. Accessories update with even more key colours and options than before, from expedition-ready backpacks to satchels in a range of fluros and gradient colourings.
For AW13, men and women alike wrap up warm in vintage-feel knitted scarves, gloves and bobble hats jazzed up by Nordic patterning and retro graphics.
Footwear gets snowstorm-proof with brushed suede explorer boots for men, while women can match ultra-comfy moccasin boots with the Navajo-inspired blanket scarves. For a more casual look, girls can get sporty with the super sprint with inserted heel while boys look sharp in smart but distressed leather boots with pop coloured soles.
AutumnWinter 2013… Superdry’s most forward-thinking, premium collection yet.
