Indeed, this air du temps instinct remixes ‘90s visual references to arrive at a youthful energy infused with open-minded sophistication. Her approach is impulsive but never undone. Among the standout statements: a full-length floral dress that gets fresh edge from the new Casey sneakers; an orchid taffeta mini-dress that nods to high fashion with its frilled, plissé sleeves; the relaxed pairing of an ample viscose sweatshirt and a knee-length skirt; and the various interpretations of boyish layering, all of which signal yet another facet of the SeeByChloé spirit.

By superimposing lingerie and streetwise separates, and by shifting between dance dresses and monogram track pants, the arty party girl establishes an identity that is romantic, dynamic and quintessentially cool. A push-and- pull of personality comes across in the fabrics and surface details: stylized animals prints – some embedded with feline faces – underscore self- assuredness; while lace and devoré are comparatively coy. Camisole tops with panels extend down the front. Seasonless outerwear boats a tactile dimension: the denim has been washed to feel soft and worn, quilted nylon reveals the SeeByChloé bisou.

The palette, meanwhile, pitches strong shades of purple, saffron and cyan against atmospheric hues of frosted blue, foamy green, stone, bark and black. In variable intensities and combinations, these colours convey an artistic eye.

Shoes and bags comprise key designs that advance the See by Chloé signatures. Whereas the Casey sneaker – designed with a curvy moulded sole and material-blocked surface of leather, suede and perforated neoPREnE – offsets the collection’s femininity, the Isida sandal offers the ideal complement; its wearable heel has been inlaid with a subtle, multi-colored graphic pattern and the strap arrangement flatters the foot in silver or aqua.

Three new bag styles define the collection: available in two sizes and a range accent colours from rusty pink to caramel, Hopper boasts an outsized burnished gold ring detail and adjustable chain strap. Additional studded strap options make it the most fashion-focused and playful in purpose. In double-faced leather with a sporty tag detail, Jay is a streamlined, ample day bag that sits easily on the shoulders and looks chic clutched in hand. Designed as a multi-use banane with a removable safety pin charm, Mindy gives off extra attitude when worn cross-body. In high- shine foiled silver, it overlaps the worlds that the arty party girl inhabits.
