The playful, sophisticated spirit of the 21st century bohemian woman is the look for H&M Studio this autumn/winter: effortless, charming, always ready for the fun. H&M Studio was shown during Paris Fashion Week and throughout the collection, feminine meets masculine, with men’s blazers, biker and aviator jackets worn over draped tops and dresses. The collection will be sold in around 260 stores worldwide and online from September 4.

“I love the freedom of choice and bohemian spirit of H&M Studio for autumn/winter 2014. It’s all about feminine pieces full of sophistication and fun, worn with attitude,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, head of design, new development.

THEMES

– The return of the slip dress as a wardrobe staple, held on thin straps and worn on its own or for layering. Lace appears elsewhere for insets and borders.

– Pieces adopted from menswear add the sleekness of tailoring through blazers, or the attitude of leather biker jackets.

– A draped top with matching trousers is the new suit. Meanwhile the exposed shoulder is a focus, both with off-the-shoulder and one shoulder looks.

– A new width in trousers, often trimmed with tuxedo details for permanent night-time elegance.

FABRICS

– Silk crepe and chiffon, for the most delicate slip dresses.

– Leather, either patent with a glossy shine, distressed and worn-looking, or metallic.

– Fake fur, patchworked together.

– Velvet, for tops, dresses and an evening take on the track pant.

– Fine cashmere gives both softness and transparency in tanks, sweaters and dresses.

DETAILS

Sequin and stone embroidery, laced knits, cord and grosgrain details, asymmetric hems, intricate patchwork effects.

COLOURS

Black, navy, khaki, off-white, beige and grey with accents of bubblegum pink and bold zebra patterns.

 

KEY GARMENTS

Slip dress, biker jacket, draped top and trousers, aviator jacket, patchwork fake fur coat, wide trousers, cashmere knits.

 

KEY ACCESSORIES

Pointed boots with either a low or high heel come in metallic or patchworked leather, mules, caps trimmed with fake fur.
