Taj Mahal : An Eternal Love Story
Abu Dhabi, UAE, March 2014: Dar Sara, the haute-couture house takes part in the Bride Abu Dhabi 2014. At the exhibition, Dar Sara pays homage to its embroidery artisans, and their new collection is inspired by the land of diverse culture, plethora of traditional and exquisite artistry: India.
Joumana Al Hayek, the designer of Dar Sara looks forward to participating at the Bride Abu Dhabi 2014. “Dar Sara is a byword for intricacy, attention to details and impeccable craftsmanship, and we have always been true to its DNA. Our new collection is perfect for today’s brides as it is a fusion of decadent ornamentation with modern day flair and femininity,” said Joumana Al Hayek, adding that the inspiration for the collection is drawn from paisleys, Indian flavors and spices, Indian Heritage sites and all elements which make India a remarkable landmark of inspiration.
The key silhouettes in this collection are modern day interpretations of the traditional Indian Sari, Salwar Kameez, Lehengha Choli, along with an eclectic mix of cocktail and evening wear. Dar Sara has created the timeless luxury collection with pure silks, chiffon, jacquards and illusion tulle. Garments, though traditional have an edgy twist.
They are embellished with Kashmiri and Rajasthani Zardozi, embroidery of intricate wire detailing. The embroidery is intertwined with delicate dentelle and guipure, and adorned with Swarovski crystal elements.
This season marks another milestone for the fashion house. Dar Sara has entered into an exclusive collaboration with Fashion jewelry designer Chehab which has resulted in a stunning masterpiece; the peacock-inspired mermaid cut wedding ensemble. It is bejeweled with semi-precious stones made at the jeweler’s atelier.
