My Makeover at Dolce and Gabbana Podium.
Makeover with Dolce and Gabbana from 28th July – 5th August 2013 at Mall of the Emirates, Dubai…
I visited the Dolce and Gabbana podium yesterday, and it was indeed a beautiful set-up.
Located at the entrance of Harvey Nicolas at the Mall of the Emiarates, Dubai.
I was very excited to try on my Makeover with them…….I requested them to give me a ‘Day Makeup’
After cleansing my face with the Dolce and Gabbana cleanser, the makeup artist applied the ‘Dolce and Gabbana Perfect Matte Liquid Foundation’ which is a SPF 20.
It was a 12 hours stay-onn foundation with a very fine and rich texture.
The best part about the foundation was, it could be used without a compact, as it gave the face a perfect look..
The makeup artist suggested that the foundation should be chosen as per skin type, like for oily skin, normal skin, and so onn…
Followed by the foundation, a little loose powder was brushed under my eye area, to keep it clean from the eye shadow dust.
The makeup artist then gave me a brief about how different eyes makeups suit different face cut, few makeup styles mentioned by her were banana style, almond style, etc. also some eyes have more make-up space, so different shades and eye pencil can be played on it, whereas for the small eyes highlights work the best.
She also mentioned that the most important part of the eye makeup is, preparing the eyebrows and mascara, as people 1st notice the eyebrows, followed by eyelashes catching attention and then details of eye makeup are noticed.
Also the shape of the face and the skin color plays an important role here.
For fair skin, avoid very dark shades like deep smokey eyes, and for dark skin avoid very light shades.
After seeing the shape of my eyes, she thought of giving me partly banana style makeup, making circle towards inside of my eyes….
She started by highlighting the center of my eye lid and corner of by eyebrow bone. She then blended the shade from the Dolce and Gabbana’s latest eye shadow palette and completed the look with eyeliner and kohl.
I was also suggested a very nice tip about the using eye liner and kohl.
She mentioned that instead of the eye liner pencil or kohl pencil, we can use a very thin brush, and dip it in water and use the eyeshadow powder with the brush and apply it like kohl and liner on the eyes.
Followed by this she used an eyebrow brush and gave me a very pretty eyebrow shading.
About the mascara she suggested that for long eye lashes, keep your eyes open, then start the mascara application from bottom of the lash towards the top.
And for small eye lashes, we can slightly close the eyes and apply on the lash starting from the eyes till the end as this gives a dark and thick look.
She applied a little mascara to the bottom eyelash as well.
My look was then completed with a beautiful pink lip shade along with sun-kissed Apricot shaded blush.
I was very happy as it was a very subtle and light day make-up, just as I was hoping J
This is a must try and do visit their podium anytime before 5th August 2013 and try on a free makeover session with them…..
