Today, I would like to share with you my experience using the most innovative and user friendly hair dryer launched by Dyson.

It is the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer.

We are all aware of the brand Dyson. This is one brand that invests a lot of time and effort in the research and development of their products. Most of their launches are innovative and long lasting.

 

Since about a year now, I have been using the Dyson Pure Cool Air Purifier and I am very happy with it as the product delivers what it claims.

Recently, I attended the event for the launch of the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer in Dubai.

The engineer who worked behind the creation of Dyson Supersonic, introduced us to the uniqueness and benefits  of the product.

About Dyson Hair Dryer

Dyson has invested £50 million in the development of the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer includingreating a state of the art laboratory dedicated to investigating the science of hair. Dyson engineers studied hair from root to tip, understanding how it reacts to stresses, how to keep it healthy and how to style it.

Over four years they tested the product on different hair types and built test rigs which mechanically simulate hair drying techniques – which can differ around the world. To date over 1010 miles of real human hair have been used in testing.

Motor enabled

The Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer is powered by the patented Dyson digital motor V9, created in-house by a team of over 15 motor engineers specifically for this machine. It is Dyson’s smallest, lightest, most advanced digital motor.

It is up to eight times faster than other hair dryer motors and half the weight. In addition, because the Dyson digital motor is engineered to be powerful yet compact it is small enough to be positioned in the handle rather than the head; because of this the machine is engineered for balance.

Helps protect natural shine

Some conventional hair dryers can reach extreme temperatures, especially when held close to your head. This can cause extreme heat damage to your hair. The Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer has intelligent heat control, helping to ensure hair isn’t exposed to excessive temperatures.

Fast & focused

The Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer uses Dyson’s patented Air Multiplier™ technology. The volume of the air drawn into the motor is amplified by three due to this technology, producing a high pressure, high velocity jet of air.

Traditional hair dryers can sometimes have a weak airflow, meaning they are slow. Others can have strong airflow, but it is not necessarily controlled. The Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer creates a focused jet of air, angled at 20° for controlled, precise drying and styling. Allowing you to dry and style at the same time.

Acoustic engineering

A team of Dyson aero-acoustic engineers sought to understand how the acoustics of this machine could be optimised. By using an axial flow impeller inside the motor they have simplified the pathway of the air reducing turbulence and swirling. And by giving the motor impeller 13 blades instead of the usual 11, Dyson engineers pushed one tone within the motor to a sound frequency beyond the audible range for humans.

Also, because the motor is small and compact they have been able to embed it in the handle, surrounded by acoustic silencers to further reduce sound. The Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer is engineered to be quieter than others, without compromising on speed.

My Experience using the Dyson Super Sonic

After learning about Dyson Supersonic, I was very excited to try it 🙂

I have started using the Dyson Supersonic since about 3 weeks now and I would like to share with you my experience on the product.

Firstly, What do we all expect from a hair dryer?

1. easy access
2. faster drying
3. low noise
4. safe to use

These are just the few basic things, but do we get them all in 1 product?

Well, the answer is YES. Dyson Supersonic does all of the above with additional features and benefits.

Firstly, the dryer itself is very stylish, compact and good looking, its not bulky and does not crowd up the  storage space. You can easily squeeze into your hand luggage if you want to take it for travelling.

I have pretty long hair, and with my usual dryer it takes me about 30 minutes to completely dry my hair. With Dyson Hair Dryer, it took me about 15 minutes to do the same job. YES, exactly half the time. This wasn’t due to the extra hot airflow or something, infact Dyson Supersonic ensures consistent temperature throughout the use which helps to dry the hair faster and moreover the product uses the Air Multiplier™ technology because of which the volume of the air drawn into the motor is amplified by three, producing a high pressure, high velocity jet.  It’s got 3 control settings for the fan speed and 4 settings for the heat mode, 1 of which is is for constant cold mode.

The Dyson Supersonic is easy to use. Simply adjust the heat and speed button from the back of the dryer and slide the switch to the ‘on’ position, and away you go.

While using the dryer to dry and style my long hair, I din’t feel any arm pain or discomfort as Dyson Supersonic is not bulky or heavy. This is due to the motor placement in the handle instead of the head of the dryer, it balances the weight, making it feel lighter to hold for long duration.

Dyson Supersonic comes with 3 attachments:

Smoothing Nozzle, which dries and gives a smooth finish.

Styling Concentrator, that can be used for more precise styling.

Diffuser, for defining curls and de-frizzing.

Also the best part,we can fix these attachments with a magnetic holding, isn’t that cool 🙂

For maintaining the product, we can simply twist the filter and clean it which I would usually do after couple of uses.

The sound of the dryer is not too loud and yea after a long use, when you touch the nozzle it won’t be very hot, so that makes it easy to change attachments in between if required.

After a single use itself, you can notice that unlike other dryers, this dryer won’t leave your hair rough or brittle, rather it leaves back a shiny & glossy finish on the hair. This is due to the focused jet of air flow in the right direction and  the heat-protection technology that stops the temperature of air from getting high enough to damage the natural shine of your hair.

Dyson Supersonic is available at all Sephora stores in the UAE and is priced at AED 1,499. It sounds quite pricey for a hair dryer. But as you all know, there is no price for beauty and specially for the beauty which comes with safety and care. This is one product which can be used for years without the need of replacing, as it does the job with lot of precision, care and protection.

I would recommend this product to ladies for whom hair drying is part of their daily routine as the product delivers efficiency and consistency with lot of time saving.
