Last spring the ‘Origami’ bag was launched giving the out and about woman an effortless light tote which was easily folded for travelling as well. This upcoming season it is returning with a wider range of colours: from bold red to soft colours like a cream and light blue.

The traditional art of paper folding has been interpreted by Loewe to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the brand’s arrival in Japan. Using Loewe’s signature material, the napa leather, the ‘Origami’ bag is the result of the Spanish brand’s homage to the Japanese craftmanship and expertise.

Sophisticated engineering and tradition combine again this season with functional, modern design. The ‘Origami’ bag has been the starting point of inspiration for two of this season’s bags from the Skin collection : the ‘Pillow’ bag and the ‘Cubo’ bag. When collapsed, all these bags take up less space, making them easy to store or travel with.

The Origami folding bag comes back for the Spring 2014 in a full set of new colors : light blue, raspberry, black, stone, light pink, brandy and red.

LOEWE’S CUBO BAG- THE BEST LEATHER THAT FOLDS FLAT

The ‘Cubo’ bag, part of the Skin collection for Spring Summer 2014 has been specially designed to showcase the supreme quality of Loewe’s leather. Taking an architectural approach to bag design, Loewe has used clever and innovative pattern-cutting to create a structure that folds flat. In order to work, these 2D-to-3D form requires skins that are large, strong, soft and supple with a precise consistency of thickness – and leather of this standard can only be produced with Loewe’s know-how.

When collapsed, the ‘Cubo’ bag takes up less space, making it easy to store or travel with. It takes the lozenge shape of a classic bag and rethinks it as a form that can fold flat. Designed with a double handle and a detachable shoulder strap, it’s a versatile bag that comes in three sizes. The colours of the ‘Cubo’ bag elaborate on the theme of Skin with a palette of flesh-like tones, as well as white and black. The ‘Cubo’ uses two leather finishes that are new departures for Loewe: a smooth, shiny gloss calf and sleek, supple nubuck, and comes in python too.
